Recognizing excellence in environment, health, and safety

The criteria provides you the tools to develop an application and to create a continuous improvement action plan for an EHS management system.

Each application is evaluated by a panel of more than 40 international experts – providing applicants written feedback on each element of the criteria.

Finalists receive onsite assessments to evaluate the EHS management system in person at your headquarters and at least two operations sites.

Winning organizations have the opportunity to join a select group of high-performing EHS organizations and be recognized for the achievements.

A 10-question assessment tool to providing  instant feedback

We encourage you to use this survey to benchmark as you consider your application. This tool is instrumental in helping organizations of all sizes and from all industries determine where they are on their journey of continuous improvement. Regardless of the results, the Campbell Award can help you improve.

In a natural progression of the Campbell Award, its winners and a group of thought-leaders from the National Safety Council launched the Campbell Institute. The mission of the Institute is to help organizations achieve and sustain EHS excellence though participation, research and events.
